EARTH
Campinuovi lies in an area defined geographically as “high hill” sitting between 350 and 465 metres above sea level. The characteristic unique to our vineyards is the wide variety of soils for such a small surface. In 7 ha they range from marls and clay schists to sandstone and iron- rich and lime matrix conglomerates. This variability of soil composition contributes to add aromatic complexity to our wines, first and foremost the Sangiovese. This because each soil reflects in the wine its characteristic mineral richness.
WATER
The water coming from Monte Amiata and going towards the Maremman plains flows abundant underneath our vineyards. This ensures that even in very dry years the vines can find, with their deep roots, the water they need. We also have a natural spring.
Air and Heat
Campinuovi lies in a typically Mediterranean climate area. with plenty of light and warmth necessary to reach excellent poly-phenolic ripening. Besides this the place is characterised by another unique phenomenon. Campinuovi is at equal distance between the mountain and the sea; in this specific area there is the formation of a thermal currents vortex that is felt especially in spring and summer.

Thus, even in summer, the air temperature in the vineyards never reaches excessively high peaks. This way the aromatic precursors that form during the ripening process are not degraded by the undue heat. The temperature difference between day and night also contributes to maintaining the aromatic components of the berries, thus giving typical fruity notes.
